The History of Pretty GardensThe Pretty Gardens is situated in one of the western suburbs of Bloemfontein, namely Langenhoven Park. The plot where the centre is located on was previously known as the "Spitskop Nursery" and had only five small shops.  Future PotentialThe owners, Leslie Barnard and Christo Coetzer, saw the potential of the small centre and its surroundings and bought it in 2002. Since then, the lifestyle centre has grown from five shops to an impressive 50 stores, with the most recent phase "The Suites" completed in January 2011.Langenhoven ParkThe suburb of Langenhoven Park, where the lifestyle centre is situated, has in thirty years developed from a small and new suburb to the biggest suburb in the Free State, with more than 18000 people living here alone. Due to the increase in the number of people in Langenhoven Park, the demand for residential and commercial property has also increased dramatically. Therefore most of the new developments planned for Bloemfontein are on the western side of the city. That alone is an advantage, in more ways than one, to Langenhoven Park, to Bloemfontein and to Pretty Gardens.  |
